Yeah I know, everyone else is talking about spec-v's. Like I said earlier, you should win. YOU BETTER WIN.

Russell, you must already be the fastest ATX or any car for that matter with a top end speed like this.

That is about the dumbest thing I've read all week.

Next time you see your riceboy Spec-v friend, smack him for running without a hood on. I mean hell, why not yank the trunk lid too if he wants to look rediculous.

Remind him that a 9.8 is about a 15.2 second pass. Not really any quicker than a stock SE-R Spec-V

It's at the track and only at the track. (That's where you get the 1/8 mile times.) The point of running at a drag strip is to see how good of times you can get which is what he did (and what all the other people there do). At a non-nhra sanctioned event, this is allowed among many other things and is perfectly fine since you're just seeing how fast you can go. I guess if he added nitrous and used it to get faster times, that would be stupid too.

i find it funny when a riceboy with a honda or a neon or a cougar (seen 2 of them guys) that TOTALLY gut the interior and still run mid 16s. its just stupid, who drives around like that all the time? when im at the track i take out the subs and the spare and jack, nothing more.

last night i was lined up against a supercharged 5.0 mustang for 3 of the 4 runs (it was just a test and tune night, no big event) this guy was running 11.5s all night long, broke into the 11.4s 1 time. im sittin on the line, crappy tires are spinning, he just blows by me like a rocketship!

Yeah, I understand that it's a 1/8 mile track seeing that you got a 1/8 mile slip

I just think it's completely stupid to be yanking a 35lb hood off street car that is only capable of running 15s. Seriously, why stop there? Why not yank the trunk lid and all the seats. What sort of bragging rights does this get you? 9-second cars don't have problems with running a hood. If he added nitrous, good for him. Personally I think nitrous is a cheap way out to get 1/4 mile ETs, but it's still a true performance mod, not a ricer mod.

agreed. pulling the hood is a true ricer mod, gutting the interior is a ricer mod, im talking about on a daily driven car, that is just gutted to go to the track, NOT an all out race car thats trailored up to the track.

Hood came off at the track and went back on at the track. Same as removing spare tire, subs, etc. It dropped his 1/8 mile time by 3/10 of a second. And if that equals 15.2 1/4 mile than that's pretty good, since stock they run 15.4 to 15.7. Why take a contour, etc. to the drag strip? To get fast times. The contour is no drag car by any means. It's like saying why add a turbo to a contour. Since no FWD street car will be a real drag car. Why do people buy different intakes for their contours, on a duratec, a different intake wouldn't drop your 1/8 mile time by 3/10 of a second.
