I just had a new waterpump, timing belt, serpintine and all the tensioners and pullys replaced on my car, now when I come to a stop and the fan kicks on, the battery light comes on. Once I start moving, or rev the engine a little it goes off, and then I stop again it come back on. What could be the problem? Im going to take it back and have them check it on saturday but I thought I could get some insight before I take mit back. It wasnt doing this before I had all this work done. The battery stays charged all the time.

it might be the serpintine belt tensioner if id does not put enough force on the belt it can sleep especially at low engine revs i had the same problem on my accord

I agree with gearhead. The light comes on when you drain power faster than your alternator is charging the battery. Since you recently had the belt and related HW replaced, the belt is probably sliping for some reason. I don't think it's possible to put in wrong so the alternator is driven at a slower speed.

Took it back to goodyear and told them I thought it was possibly the tensioner or belt needed looked at and they ran a system check on the charging system and stated at idle the volts were at 8, and when reving they were at 14. They said its the alternator, but I just had the alt replaced about 6 months ago. The last time this happened with a intermiedatly battery light it ended up being the mega fuse, I told them this and they said all the fuses checked out and it only took them about 5 mins to check which I think is crap. I asked them if they phscally looked at the mega fuse and they said they just ran a fuse check and everything checked out. So I dont know, but have a feeling its the mega fuse. Does anyone know by looking at the fuse if you can see if its blown? and can I reach this fuse by removving the air tubing and is it right below the TB? I want to check it my self and if its bad replace.

I put a new mega fuse in and have the same problem, battery light still on at idle only. The only thing I can think of now is its the ALT. I had a new ALT put in in January, cold it have went bad this quick? I just find it hard to believe that I diddnt have this problem before I took it in to have the waterpump and timing belt changed. They also replaced the serpintine belt and tensioner.
