Dont buy the SVT. You will be the envy of all your neighbours. Wait, is that so bad? The $$$ could be dumped into the Mystique. Your choice ultimately.

By the looks of your Sig, you have a Mystique LS. Unless you've driven a Mystique GS or a REAL Contour SE Sport, you haven't even driven a Tour that comes close to the drive of an SVT.
Go to the dealer, drop your license on his desk, and get the keys. Tell him you'll be back in an hour with it.
Take it out, and nail the throttle few times. Find some really twisty roads and feel out the suspension. LISTEN to the exhaust note that you don't hear in the Mystique.
If that isn't enough to make you buy one, then I don't know what is.
My SE Sport would have been an SVT if Bill Kolb Jr. Ford hadn't (*&@$%^#@%$^%#$ with the numbers, my trade-in value, my loan, and all my paperwork for my Black E1. When it came time for me to sign the deal, I told him to take his stinking deal and stick it where his Momma wouldn't dare look.
They called me for THREE WEEKS after that, begging me to come and get the car. Instead I went to my local salesman that has treated my right for my last 5 Fords. I got the REAL Duratec SE Sport ATX for just under $20, with 5.9% for 5 years. I've got 11 payments left.
I miss the moonroof, the MTX, the power seats, but not the leather. I've got just about everything else, except for the extra 20 hp.
My next car is a MARAUDER !!!

I almost bought a second one the other day, but it went to auction before I could get the money for it. It was a Silver 98 w/54,000 on it. so my answer is, no, I won't talk you out of it Mike
I have a dream, and that is a 69 Boss 302 with Jules Asner in it. Current - 2002 Chevy Silverado Former - 98 SVT E0 T-Red 4/4/97 #173 of 6535(so long girl, you'll be missed)

I agree with Roadrunner. The Post '98 non-SVT Contiques are very different than the SVT. But you need to test drive it to see if it is worth the cost to you. How i your car now? Any major problems? If it has all the features and options and it has been good to you, I'd keep it. Get lowering springs, struts, and a 3.0L in your current car and you'll be eating SVT's for lunch and have a more unique car.
