Well, now you are comparing a the Sy/Ty to a 1/2-ton pickup. Those trucks could not do the work that the Lightning or SS could of that time. Try towing a boat with the Syclone...those vehicles can not be directly compared, an apples/oranges type of thing.
The SS and 90's Lightning came out around the same time. The late-model Lightning has been out for years now with no competition. Now Dodge and Chevy(SS=SLOW and EXPENSIVE) are trying to play Fords game. That's okay because Ford will once again raise the Bar when the new Lightning comes out based on the new platform.
