Good article. Seems like a strange way to get the top speed. Why wouldn't they just take it to the salt flats or something? Cool find though.

well ford better do something cause when the "viper with a truckbed" is released, there gonna have to do that test over again  And on a side note. Did everyone notice the mention of our beloved contour at the end of the article

if you mean any current dodge R/T offering,then you are sadly mistaken about it being any faster...
if you mean the UPCOMING SRT-10...then we'll see...i believe i read that it was speed limited to around 150 mph...so it still won't much FASTER if at all..only QUICKER,that is UNTIL the new lightning is introduced..
but still the dodge is going to be bfugly as hell either way...and the lightning started this whole trend,with gm and dodge trying to jump in at the last minute...

Yeah but those aren't all that fast IIRC. I took one on(at the track) when my SVT was stock(still is pretty much) and pulled on him. Those are the black ones with the red stamped letters/numbers on the back of the bed, correct? I guess they could still get credit for starting something that they sucked at.
