Well, Vortech takes your a computer, uploads all the fuel map and timing and stuff out of it to their computer. Then they adjust it for the boost, save it as a file, flash a superchip or whatever and plug it into your computer. Tape it shut and send it to you. Basically all svt contours with this computer code get the exact same programming (that saved file).

Demon calls it generic because it is no different then giving superchips your computer code and getting the same chip they give to everyone else that has that code. It is not custom at all. The best thing to do is get it tuned on a dyno where they can adjust everything to your particular car right on the spot. That is true custom. You could give them a list of your mods and they could somewhat custom tune it, but the dyno is the best way.

Agreed....All cars are diffrent, Diffrent altitudes, diffrent climates, and diffremt preformace gains before forced induction...thinking that someone can "custom tune" your ECU with out running a dyno graph to see where your A/F, HP, and Torque as well as other variables, is just stupid!! I just finished reading a book on tuning by Diablo Sport...though not one of the best, it goes into detail of the process and what can and cannot be done with out a dyno.

They are all generic chips, they get the ECU code form your ECU when you send it in, so they get the compatable program...but all the programs have the same basic peramaters.

Don;t be fooled, Get a custom burned chip.....and make sure the tuner is well repected and knows whats he doing.
