I am basically a perfectionist when it comes to some things so I like to try and install things the way they were designed, if I see a way to improve it I will usually give it a try if possible. As I said before...I couldn't be any happier with my install and the performance of my shifter

Enjoy the shifter centering spring or no centering spring

then obviously you don't have a clue what the hell you are talking about either....it doesn't matter that its installed CORRECTLY....it is there to help pull the shifter towards neutral....which in turn makes it longer to shift between the gears period...it slows you down period....you don't need your shifter getting pulled toward neutral when you are trying to shift fast...

it doesn't matter that it came with it...my install is just as complete as yours is and i don't have the spring....and for that matter i was the second person on this site to install the steeda on a tour...i am not saying that the spring is hurting your car,but it is hurting your quick shifting...it is a worthless piece of metal, that hinders performance.....just because it came on the car doesn't mean it has to be on there for an install to be professional, and well done....

and btw demonsvt and others discussed this awhile back, and he stated that it is hurting not helping..and iirc he knows a few things about these cars...

Well my smart a$$ friend...obviously you must have very weak spindly little arms that can't maneuver around a little spring since it seems to pull your limp wrist back into neutral uncontrollably. I could really care less if you were one of the 1st to install the Steeda shifter or not that certainly doesn't make you any sort of an expert whatsoever. I also don't care about your references to other members either, I know there are guys on this board that know a thing or two about these cars and there are also some that don't have a clue...that was not the point. I didn't say anything was wrong either way I just simply stated that mine works perfect and I like it the way it is. Don't tell me I don't know what the hell I'm talking about when you have no friggin' clue who I am or anything about me. I was probably working on cars long before you were done crapping in your diapers. You have a 98, I have a 2000 they are different and I said that I didn't know how the shifter works on the pre 2000 cars and I also said I didn't try it without the spring either. So why don't you just back off and leave it alone
