I've never heard of that code on a Contour.
Maybe bad plug wires. Dampness under the hood after rain.
Of course, you could have a faulty fuel gauge sender and you are out of gas???
I'd certainly put a gallon or two in there, get some silicon spray or WD-40 to spray down the ignition wires, etc to make sure the connections are good, etc.
The rain and the no-start are probably not a coincidence, but rather are related.
