The tape isn't a requirement, except for glass lens.
But is suggested, as it could potentially protect as well..
a couple spots where the tape wasn't down all the way were
covered with gravelly dirt.. so there was plenty of stuff flying
that could scratch the lens.
Yes it was fun indeed.. Ken is a pretty cool guy talked to him
for a bit before my last session when he came out to play..

We tape our headlights for club racing but thats only because we like it nascar style. Although if there were any cars out there running hoosiers i would think of the tape as a good idea, it's amazing what those things can throw up. After only a few races i have a cracked windshield and numerous stone chips
