From what I've heard Ford wanted to bring the Mondeo over here once the car was redesigned, but due to UAW relations (and a few other factors) they decided not to......and this is coming from someone within the company that deals with exports.

Why would it? Contour are dead forever.
Doesn't anyone read a newspaper? The next cars coming are the 500 and Futura, no Contour or Mondeo.

But the Futura will be based on the Mazda 6 platform. The next generation Mondeo will be based on the Mazda 6 platform, or as some have said, the Mazda 6 platform and the Mondeo will come together. In fact there will be at least 10 new products in the next few years based on the Mazda 6, including some crossover vehicles. So a Futura based SVT could really be as close to a CSVT as we may ever see again, after all the Mazda 6 is about as close as you can get right now.

Actually all that is available is the 3-door and 5-door hatches, thankfully, as the 4-door sedan is damn fugly!

The Mazda 6 "share" many components with the Mondeo. Floor pan, suspension geometry, engine and many electronics are the same. Mazda is Ford's North American "car" product line where as "Ford" is the Truck brand - in practice any way.
If you want the euro Mondeo, just by the Mazda 6 - same thing - different skin.
