SVTCuervo,
Easy Buddy...in no way was I bashing you or Performance Ford whatsoever. I have no dealings with them and have not seen their product other than a few pic's...by the way,why don't they have a pic of the so called superior Y-PIPE on their web page?. I have watched this board for about a year now and have heard nothing but complaints about the Brullen catback system. Yes, guys say it sounds good but so do quite a bit of the other systems. But Brullen should never have sent out the system until they had it 100% correct. I have been working on cars for a good 25+ years and have had and built several real muscle cars in the past (not a crack on the tours...I love my CSVT) and I for one get thoroughly pissed off when I buy a product through mailorder and it is wrong or does not fit. There is no excuse for this to happen, now once and while sh!t happens but when practically every system that has gone out in the past six months needed an exhaust shop to make it fit now that is unacceptable in my opinion and makes you wonder a bit. Now I expect you to back your product's or your buddy's products since you probably have a vested interest in the outcome and I don't blame you for that. But don't try and butter everyone up on how great it is and how much better it is then everyone else's when it is not...why do you have Bassani on your car? Borla is probably one of the best but the price keeps some away but anyone can bolt it up in their driveway and you won't need a shop to make it fit. Brullen, Bosal, Bassani, are all basically just cheaper versions for us guys that don't have money tree's in our back yards. All I can say is I put the Bosal system on my car in less time then it took me to get the 2 bolts after the cat off...about 45 minutes for the entire job and that includes removing the stock SVT exhaust. I DID NOT need a shop to do a thing...that is quality manufacturing to say the least. I'll bet it will flow just as good as the Brullen cat back...probably about the same. What is the difference...2.5" mandrel bent S/S, flange mounts, straight through resonator and performance mufflers with 3" tips? It come to a matter of taste on the sound and appearance. I personally like the very nicely polished S/S on the Bosal and to me it looks and sounds great. For a complete system that looks like this,

sounds and performs the way the Bosal does the cost is hard to beat. My neighbor is a producer, writer and test driver for "Motor Week" and has driven every thing under the sun from domestic to foreign exotics and he compliments me every time he here's my car go up the road...he says it sounds AWESOME! As for the Brullen Y-Pipe it seems to me somebody back a few weeks ago compared it to the MSDS y-pipe where they both had the funky sharp bend in the one pipe. I recall the guy modifying the bend with some pipes from an auto parts store and greatly improving the flow. It is common sense, the less bends you have the better something will flow hence the Sho-Shop, BAT and Yo-Dude Y-pipe's clearly understood this in their designs. Now if you can get rid of most of the bends and if you must feed 2-into-1 (not true duals) then make this transition as open and smooth as possible like the SHO-Shop and BAT Y-pipe's dual inlet hi-flow cat. Now if you choose to do away with the cat then maybe the Sho-Shop off road pipe will flow the best? I'd like to see an unbiased shop to do a test on two identically moded SVT's one with a Brullen Y-pipe and cat and one with a Sho-Shop or BAT Y-pipe with 2-into-1 cat. Or even just put both setups on a flow bench...I wonder which would flow the best...maybe I'm wrong but I would put my money on the Sho-Shop or the BAT setup based simply on what I see...less bends and less restrictions! I am by no means any kind of expert but I do have quite a bit of experience with cars and more than anything common sense.
Don't take it personally...it's all good

This is what boards are for, where else can you get all this free info...be it write or wrong. Some will figure it out and some will blow endless amounts of money searching for something better. That also helps the classified adds as well
