Redline is a good thing! I've been enjoying the heck out of my wife having a car that actually likes to rev. Her previous car, an 00 Jetta was wheezing at 5k. Ever since I had my 89' SHO, I can't think of shifting that short, it's not right. Got a little tired of those clutch jobs though.
I haven't banged off the rev limiter yet, thats still frenzied Miata terrain for the time being, but soon enough, I'll find the cutoff. Just a matter of time;-)

Rev limiters are good. I used to run my Miata on the limiter for 500ft down the end of a straight at one particular auto-x layout we ran where it wasn't worth it to shift to 2nd just to drop it back to 1st at the turn Sounded like hell but it was faster - that car did not like downshifting to 1st.
I run my 133,000+ mile CSVT to the redline every morning and pretty regularly bang the rev limiter if I'm not paying close attention in 1st. Stock clutch still intact.

Redline if you're racing it. Otherwise I'd say about 3500-4000. Driving up to the redline really is'nt gonna be what frys your clutch. That was probably from the start

wow, you shift at 3500-4000 during daily driving? that seems high to me. i "raced" my girlfriend in her tacoma last night and i was just trying to stay next to her. i never floored it or went past 4000 rpm and held right next to her and she was flooring it. funny 4 cylinders....but normally i shift around 3000 during daily driving, that way the secondaries don't get used as much. you must drive fast if you shift that late. but, yes racing, i have been told redline. i try to stay away from the red though; i mostly shift around 6000 because i forget i still have almost a whole other 1000rpm to go .

Whenever I do drive my car, I think 3000-4000 is babying it. I bang through the gears as often as I can.

i baby my car because i don't trust cars 90% of the time and I want my car to last as long as possible. My paycheck is basically going to my car payment and insurance, so I don't have money to fix big ticket items. Now when I get out of school(not high school) and get a career cracking, hopefully next year, that will be a different story. I do plan on having about 2 project cars. But for now, I like my car and I abuse it more than I like to think or admit.
