Just over 5000 on the engine I blew. It has been blown since March and I didn't have the money to fix it til now (damn sportbike cost me a lot of $).

OK, just talked to the guy that I got the extra 3L block from. All the bearings except the one spun rod bearing is fine, so I guess I'm just going to switch the cranks instead of fixing the block that exploded. I also pulled the engine out today, the front bank is definitely shot! I can see oil coming out of the front exhaust manifold, and I looked into the front manifold I saw some metal shaving. I don't know what to think. Hopefully the rear bank is fine and I only need to have head work done on the front.

You didn't have forced induction, so what blew that motor that bad? Did you run really lean on it due to the lack of a proper tune?

24# injectors with stock PCM and MAF, slight leak on the TB because the guy that "optimized" the throttle plate did a half-ass job. I think the stock MAF with 24# injectors caused most of the problem. Though I don't understand why only the front bank was shot.

Those 24's with a stock maf on a car designed for 17#'rs would be really rich. That doesn't explain the front bank and it doesn't explain why it blew. Did you use an optimizer or something else to lean out the fuel with the 24#'rs so that it would run ok? Otherwise I'm surprised it would even idle.
Aren't there chips available for the 95 contours? I would assume there are.
I'm going to start a new post about MAF/Injector calibration so you must read it.

Tom, yeah, there are chips available to the 95's. When I finally got mine running, It would still idle but it was ALWAYS rich. I don't think it even came off rich when backing out of it at speed. But then again, I'm using Pro-M MAF and SVT TB. Maybe that's the difference between mine and Dom's??
I'll put holes in him!!

I just finished my lengthy post and it probably answers the questions relating to this. I think its a must-read.

Yes, it will run way rich at idle and lower RPM range but that's about it. Once you get to 4k it starts to run lean. I always heard this ticking that I thought was just the exhaust not tight enough, but it turns out to be pinging. My car idles really high from the intake leak at the TB plate, so that took care of the mystery of why it was able to idle. When I get it back together I'll have a ProM calibrated for 24# injectors. I'm also going to check the injector wirings just to make sure they're not the curpit.

The pro-m calibration will never work quite right, see my other post.
