This is promising - hope they follow through on their talks. Beginning of 2003 is right around when I'd like to pick up something new as well! Might still keep the SVT and turn it into a real street racing car - tear down the engine and install forged flat head pistons, billet rods, etc., then get that turbo kit everyone is talking so much about...

Just read something in Automotive News that said Ford is getting ready to announce a "mainstream sedan" at the NY Auto Show.

Maybe we should start writing letters to encourage Ford, hopefully someone at Ford still checks our site? Ford did make a big aw-****, just ask your dealer, it left a big gap in Ford's offerings, especially in the last NE Ohio dealers meeting. The Focus just won't fill the void. DUH!!!!!!!!!!! Besides irregardless of the Bean-counter caused recalls & etc, for the money Contiques are still more fun to drive/Bang-for-the-buck than the Focus, Taurus, well come to think Ford hasn't had such decent vehicle for years. IMHO. The bean-counter think is hitting all vehicle nowadays. Not that makes it right or moral. Ok here it is "Mr. Ford correct Nasser's empire building, get back to building cars just like the Contour/Mystique/Mondeo variants. SUV's are good for the industry, BUT there're killing the country. Dang, that's exciting news! As I understand, the 2nd generation Mondeo was designed by the guy who designed the current gen Passat, and who left VW for Ford (J. Mays??).
Basically a Jaguar X-Type for the rest of us.

My guess is that they will make them better this time. Maybe even import them from Europe?

If that happens then I think I'm getting a new car, hope it happens down the road, and it better be an SVT type package.
