I agree, the 95-99 Maxima is a pretty big sedan for only weighing around 3000lbs. The GXEs are even lighter (~2970lbs). I weighed my well-optioned Maxima SE 5 speed on a Cat truck scale and it weighed 3240lbs with me in the car (185lbs). That also included ~9 gallons of gas (1/2 tank), 20lbs of tools, the spare/jack (30lbs), some work gear, and 30lbs of subframe connectors. On race day, I figure my car weighs about 2960lbs with a 1/4 tank of gas. My DMV registration lists the weight of my car at 3005lbs. The 00-03 gained significant weight in the redesign and weighs around 3250lbs which is still light. The New 04 weighs in at 3450lbs and while it has a 265hp motor, it's really no faster than the 95-99. So sad.
