Warmonger and SlowNFurious-
I pretty much agree with everything you guys said about the 4th gen Maxima. It is quite plain in stock form, especially the 95-96s, but with some well choosen suspension and body enhancements, these cars really turn some heads. The transformation from the stock Contour to the SVT Contour is much the same way. Ho-hum car to sweet-ass Euro sporty sedan. I agree that the CSVT has a topend advantage, but that's why I got the JDM intake manifold on my car. It's a different animal now. It did 96mph in 1/4 before the manifold and now it's doing close to 100mph

Handling wise, the Maxima is a joke and is in serious need of help. Springs, wheels/tires, and subframe connectors transformed this large sedan into a handling beast. I doubt it's quite as refined as the CSVT with suspension work, but it's really close. Quality wise, this car has been a rock. I've owned it for 5 years and it's never been to the shop or needed anything other than two 02 sensors, a knock sensor, and fluid changes. 120 1/4 passes and I'm still on the stock 7 year old 98K mile clutch that's never slipped once, even with 5000rpm launches.
