Today, I drove my usual 4 miles to work (but I stopped on the way to buy stamps). I get back in the car to finish the ride to work, stalling routine all over again. Same story.

Before you spend any more $$ fill up with 87 octane (yes I said 87). If you have been using higher then that, let your tank get low before refueling. Then, with a tank of 87, take a good long hwy drive (20 miles should do it). If you still have the problem, then start trouble shooting.

A four mile daily drive is not long enough to heat the engine and keep the valves and pistons clean. The cold engine deposits will cause just the trouble you describe. Using gas higher then 87 will also foul an engine. Put them both together and forget it.

have you fixed your ford lately?
