I know it won't fit directly, but has anybody done a custom box job?

does anybody think it is possible to mount an infinity basslink under the rear deck in the trunk so that the speaker goes in the rear deck? any ideas? (bad idea...etc)

it could be done, but its too big to mount flush against the deck, you would have to hang it in a sense. so you would have to put some kind of seal aound the outside of the sub to the rear deck. Thats why Im thinking about building a custom box of some sort.

Would you consider a free air sub?

I dont want to have to deal with trunk rattling. I would much rather do a sealed box mounted on the bottom of the deck like I have now. I love it, just want a little more.

I know that a sub isn't directional, but does having the sub mounted so close to the rear passengers ears bother them?

They frequencies are not directional but the position of the subs still makes a big difference in output, so there would be some concern. I have heard a free air 8" driver mounted on the rear deck that sounded quite nice.

if you can wait a couple of months for stryke to come out with the SB driver, you may want to consider that for SQ. It's going to have similar specs to the lambda SB (.51 Qts w/ 14mm xmax). That may be a good candidate.
