I'm sure the majority of the people do not do this, but it will greatly extend the longevity of all the components involved!
I imagine that this also contributes greatly to pre-mature A/C failure as well as just putting the HVAC on Off to turn the A/C off.

I definitely see what you mean. I suppose my wording was a wee bit vague. Sometimes I take certain things for a given...
I mean turn the "A/C compressor" off and leave the HVAC controls to a vent position. I don't think I ever turn the HVAC controls off unless I want the fan to stop (since manufacturers years ago decided for us they want the fan running all the time) Hell I had to install my own A/C on/off switch even... (I love the bi-level setting and it's ONLY A/C - stupid Ford!)
