I have this same sub in my 2k SVT - (the Microsub 8.1 I'm assuming).

I mounted mine (using the supplied bracket) hanging from the right side of the rear deck (where the 8" hole is). Then aligned the face of the sub exactly parallel to the back of the rear seat (firing into the seat). This is what JL audio as well as some installers recommended to me. It sounds awesome and maximizes your trunk space.

Beware though -- the sheet metal of the rear decklid is very thin, and the surface area of the bracket is such that if you do not reinforce it, the sub will wobble once you hang it on there (because of the leverage created. To get around this, just use a piece of wood and screw the bracket to this first -- then mount the whole deal on there. Well worth the extra 10 minutes and mine's really strong now.
