The shop I work at does a lot of work for the Hyundai dealer here in Wichita, and I've driven V6 Tiburons since the day they arrived at the showroom. I would never call them "slow", in fact they are very respectable in terms of acceleration. When I drive one of these, I think they remind me more of my Contour than any other car. Torque feels about the same throughout the tach. I've wanted to run my 'Tour against one for a long time now, but never had the chance.
I'd say it'd be a close run between V6 Tibby and V6 Tour.
BTW, Hyundai over rated the V6 hp from the factory, it's more like 170. Originally they were saying 180 in the brochures, but that number has come down since they figured out they screwed up. Still pretty stout.
