Can anyone who has had both of these, or seen both of these comment as to which is better? I'm looking to get a set of new H1 bulbs for my Mazda6 but the Silverstars won't be out until the fall (maybe) and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to wait, or just buy the PIAA's now. My Tour had PIAA superwhites and it was a great improvement over stock. So I'm wondering how different the Extreme White PIAA is from the Superwhite PIAA, and then how the Silverstars compare to them. Also the fact that the PIAA will run me almost $70 shipped is a concern. This is probably double what the Silverstars will be when they come out in the H1. Thanx!

I have something similar and the Silverstars blew those away!

Well I dont know about the PIAA's but I am happy with my Silverstars (until I can afford true HID )
MUCH clearer and brighter than the POS stock lighting, with a slight blu/green tint to it
What I like about the Silverstars is that they're bright, but the light is softer, not harsh and too bright like some of the bulbs I see on ricer's cars
And yes they ran me about $45 IIRC

Even more fun to add to the mix, someone is recommending Hella lights to me now. Supposedly only about $25 for a set and you can get them in either 35% 50% or 100% increase increments. After 50% its supposed to be bluish tint to the light so I'd probably stick with the 50%. Maybe I'll give them a try, they're cheap enough I guess. Anyone use them?

A couple of friends of mine have the PIAA Extreme White and they look good and bright.
I've got Philips HiVisibility bulbs and they are awesome! They don't have a blue hue on the bulb, actually they look like OEM bulbs. (clear glass) But the light output is way better than stock. The best part is that I found them at Wal-mart. I'm sure the high in low beam didn't hurt either.

Well I figured I'd give the Hella's a try, I've heard good things about them and they're reasonably priced. I got a set of Hella Optilux H1's for the headlights (should have a SLIGHT bluish tint) and a set of Hella Yellowstar H3's for the fogs. I went with a slightly bluish low beam because in the Mazda6 the fog light is in the same housing as the high/low beam lights. If I'm switching to a yellow fog I figured it may make the low-beam appear yellow when it isn't. If the low-beam is slightly blue that contrasting problem shouldn't exist at all. So the H1's cost me 29.99 for a pair and the H3's cost me like 12.00 for the pair. We'll see how they turn out in a week or so...

I've never heard of an H1 bulb before, but check this out. I'd check into seeing if theres some type of "trick mod" like the 9005 into the low beam socket for these H1 bulbs. Do you know what the wattage is on them? I don't think you'll be unhappy with the PIAAs, they make a quality product, period Just for the record, I did the 9005 into the low beam socket on my CSVT, before I got the MM quads w/ HIDs and it made a HUGE improvement. I also just did the 9005 into the low beam in my Regal and it really made a difference, even though the lights arent' clear, they have those vertical lines in them from the factory and it still made a BIG difference Let us see some pics when you do the bulbs, whatever they are
