Yes, the ATXs have the standard TPS.
As stated above if, your RPMs are not rising/falling to produce the "bucking" then the plugs are likely at fault.
The sensor & plugs are not terribly expensive, so these are a good course of action to look into. The plugs to use are the stock Motorcraft plugs from your dealer & be CERTAIN that the plug wires are hooked up to the correct plug. For the wire locations, pick up a Haynes manual if you don't already have one. Haynes is a good source of basic info for the 'do-it-yourself'er.
