What exactly do you mean by your remark that "the a/d/s/ is not the best of amps"?

Are you referring to its quality? Or are you referring to the fact that it "only" has 25 watts to each of its six channels?

Unfortunately, in either case I believe you are very, very wrong.

a/d/s/ manufactures what is arguably the highest quality, high end car audio equipment on this or any other planet.
They virtually invented high end car audio over 20 years ago with their very first Power Plate amplifier. Indeed, their 320i component speakers introduced in 1982(?) set the standard for car audio speakers for years to come.

Along with their sonic excellence, a/d/s/ amplifiers have always been extremely conservative when rating their available power.
25 watts in an a/d/s/ amplifier is probably closer to twice as much advertised by any other mainstream manufacturer.

You might consider the Nakamichi MB-70 head unit since the rest of your system is hovering in that rarified atmosphere of car audio high end.
