Personaly i do not think its a waste of money for the Courgars and regular V6's....ity was designed for them because of there smaller throttle body and i believe smaller MAF.(im not sure they mightbe the same)
The SVT use a larger throttle body and big MAF, so for the SVT's i think the FIPK would be too restrictive....If any one has any information on exactly if it is restrictive or not, it would be appreciated.

if you go to spmotorsports webpage they have a pic on there of it. performance wise i definatley felt some pickup since i put it on but i also have a cumputer chip, 2.5" exhaust and high flow y pipe on. as far as fiting on the svt there should not be a prob since the only thing that is diferent is where the idle air control sensor is located which is no biggie. as for the regular se/gl/and lx duratec's it is a straight bolt on with no mod's besides adding a little foam tape to some areas to stop metal on metal rubbing. all and all it is a very good product and i highly suggest getting one.

restrictivness your no bigger than your smallest diameter opening which even on the svt's is your throttle body which is 60mm and the fipk kit nothing is smaller than that so i see no prob. if you have multiply products with different diameters say like a 75mm mass air meter and than a 55mm throttle body this could cause probs caused by turbulance entering your intake which is not a good thing. but like i was saying you svt guys should not have a prob with a restrictive opening on the intake.

There is no argument, there is only you attempting to justify the amount of money you spent for your intake. It was a bad choice. If you had done a little research right here you would have saved money and installed an equally, if not more efficient intake. If the FIPK was worth the money there would be tons of posts in these forums.

Why be a jerk? The guy likes it, doesn't want a trash can under his hood, doesn't want to fabricate anything, and can afford it. If you can't afford it then don't be hard on him. For some people this may be the answer regardless if everyone else on this forum uses one or not. If you want your car to be the same as everyone elses then go to the honda forum.
This is not about justification, you clearly started an argument.

You clearly have a comprehension problem. If you believe installing a MAF adaptor and a universal filter is fabrication you must really have problems changing your oil.

I didn't state fabrication as the only reason as to why he might buy that intake only that it is one of the reasons (I'm afraid you completely contradict yourself, you have the poor comprehension). Perhaps he even just likes the way it looks, maybe you don't understand that but you don't have to because he bought it. The bottom line is clearly that you have no right to tell anyone they made the wrong choice if they are happy with what they have done (can you refute that without simply stating your own opinion?....no, point made). Don't even bother insulting my intellect. Yes after four years of University, serveral rebuilds of my VW GTI engine and still I can't change my oil, what point does that make??
ps. the fabrication was really reffering to the heat shield which comes with his kit. I believe he was trying to tell us that he didn't want to make one out of tuperware like some have on this site. please read before telling me i have a comprehension problem.

actually you don't seem to understand the point....all he is trying to say is that the k&n fipk kit is NOT the best set up for our cars....have you even seen the picture of this fipk??????
first of all the filter that comes with it is puny....second the heat shield is tiny, and barely blocks anything, especially in the spots that need it the most...third the thing that replaces the accordian tube, looks to be even more restrictive than stock, and it also seems that the maf adapter might also be too small as well...
now while the guy that bought this certainly has every right to spend(or waste in this case)his money however he chooses...he doesn't need to come on here and try and tell everyone that it is a great setup for our cars, when it appears that it is not...he got all defensive last time he posted about it,and everyone told him he wasted his money...we are just trying to point out that there are better and cheaper intakes, and that this one is NOT the best set up for our cars...

They don't get it, one makes a bad choice the other defends his right to make a bad choice. How sad.
