The Heckler & Koch MP-5 family of submachine guns is one of the most widely used weapons for assault and counter-terrorist takedowns. It is a delayed blowback weapon that fires from a closed bolt, making it a very accurate and reliable piece. In addition, there are many different varieties making it a very versatile weapon. For these reasons there are very few elite units that lack the venerable MP-5. The MP-5 was first used by GSG-9 in action against terrorists who had hijacked a lufthansa aircraft on October 17, 1977 and flown it to Mogadishu, Somalia. It was also prominantly displayed in pictures of the SAS takedown of the terrorist-held Iranian Embassy in 1980. The MP-5 has seen action in US operations such as the grenada and Panama invasion, and has only recently seen it's eventual succesor, the M4 (CAR-15 model 727) come online.

zero, no offense meant or taken. We're just car enthusisasts debating our impressions on a car. The car impressed you more than it did me. That's what discussion is about.

It does give me to the dishonesty of the automotive media. If two enthusiasts can greatly disagree on our impression of the car, why does it seem like almost all automotive journalists agree? If integrity was present, there would be a much broader range of opinion.

WR99SVT,

That was a very nice paragraph about the MP5. I really enjoyed it. I wonder if my local firing range has one to try out.
