The mitsui dealer is willing take my car as a trade and give me like 1500 not as much as I owe but the best offer. There also willing to come and get it and bring it up there, 50+ miles.
Seems like the best deal, the next step is to choose a model and have them come and get it.

Have to say that even if the Mazda dealer won't give you as good of a deal financially, the quality of a Protege is well worth the extra coin.
A good deal on a bad car is not a good deal.

I agree...i love my fiance's Protege 5! Not a whole lot of power, but the car is extremely nimble through traffic. The steering is very responsive, i would almost say i like it better than my SVT. But the SVT's power is a major portion of the fun Good luck with the lancer though. Cheers Rimmie

I have to say that everything I have heard about the Lancer is a great little car. All the reviwes I have read have been stunning.
The looks are also growing on me, not a bad little car it IS a little underpowerd but nothing a few mods wont fix. I have talked to a few people who have got one and they love it.
For some strange reason all the Ford and GM dealers I have talked to have pretty much blew me off.
This dealer is willing to give me a good trade in, when I everything is set there willing to deleiver the new one and pick up the old one.

For the love of God, get the Mazda Protege 5 instead. The Lancer is a dog!

I agree with the Protege 5. I like mine a lot. Great little car! Handles awesome! It may be underpowered, but if you're looking at the Lancer, that obviously isn't an issue!
