Check here... http://www.txchange.com/sk.htm#FORD. Scroll down until you see SKĀ® CD4E-Jr.
I think the kit runs about $40, give or take 10 bucks.
As for a convertor, look at giving around $190, give or take a few.

The SK was about 30 bucks and I got the TC from transtar for $100 cash. I found a local distributor, check the web site. I have scanned the directions (TIF files) of the SK CD4EJR kit but I have no place to post them. I guess I could e-mail them to you.

Pete, I donā??t have prems to post to the group. I did create a passport account and I am a member as far as I can tell.
I have Zipped the three TIF files into one file. The document is ā??landscapeā? so it is best to print the pages out rather then trying to view them on the PC.

Just click on ADD FILE... The next page will let you browse to the file's location. I've got 26MB of room for storage left...

Well, just had my 'tour in to get the TransGo shift kit installed and Cottman Transmission said it would be $325 just to drop the transmission. They said they don't get into removing the T-stat housing, hoses, etc. as dropping the transmission is just as easy or easier. It probably would have been around $650-$700 (including labor) to have this and the fluid drained and filled, so I just had him do the fluid for now. I guess I'll save the shift kit for when the transmission goes.

did they say how much it was just to install the kit?
because my tranny is not in the car right now, and i dont wanna install the shiftkit myself, and can just toss the tranny in the bed of my dads truck and take it to a tranny shop

He said it would just cost labor. Figure around $45/hr or so...I'm guessing maybe in the $120 range. Takes about 2 hours for the actual valve body cleaning, etc. National chain garages like to fool around a bit and tack on extra charges, so figure in the lower $100 range somewhere. I wouldn't pay more than that if the tranny was already out of the car. You got it easy. I'll probably end up doing this in the next month or two anyway and forking out $500 or so. The mechanic at Cottman told me he really didn't see the need for a shift kit unless I was CONSTANTLY running the car HARD. I told him need I the "beefing up". With my car being a primary emergency first response vehicle, it gets pushed hard just like an ambulance does, but I guess he just don't understand the CD4E. I told him the Mazda transmission was quite known for it's failure in our Duratec's, but he didn't say a word. So anyway, I'm getting the fluid drained today and he said something about doing a "service check" what ever that means. I guess they put it on their computer or whatever. Hopefully everything is OK. 88,000 and counting w/ no major problems yet *knock on wood*.
