I've been building speakers for my home system for about 4 years. I'm about to start on my latest project. Just bought an old house in Marine City about a year ago, so I have to make some speakers that will be more aesthetically pleasing than the current speakers.
Try the following companies as alternatives to
www.partsexpress.com www.madisound.com (currently have a vifa component system for 130.00 that rivals the sound of most 400-500.00 dollar car audio component systems.
www.zalytron.com has some nice (expensive) DIY components from companies like Focal, Audiom, Cabasse, Hiquphon, etc.
