Well I'm on my SECOND FORD REMAN CD4E.
The first one only lasted a little more than 50,000 miles.

I'm just curious RoadRunner. Do you drive your car hard at all? Any racing or other heavy use such as towing? Fazzman2000 implies that he babies his car a bit, but I am somewhat aggressive with my car. I don't race, but I do enjoy the performance aspects of my SE from time to time ... OK, regularly.

I just wondered if there was an obvious pattern to the failures, or if we have more of a "pot-luck" situation with the tranny.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

My car sees 80% if its driving has highway driving.
I don't Auto-X, althought I'd like to try.
I don't beat on it, and it has has mantained meticulously.

Are you kidding me ?

I'm looking for a second one to pair off with this one !

I just put into it a new set of front springs, and four struts,
and I'm getting ready to change the motor/transaxle mounts.

As long as my Contour rides good, and pulls strong, its staying in the family...
