Thanks for giving me a flashlight now if I could just figure out how to turn it on. LOL

Also, you should not have to cut any factory wires! They have install kits that allow you to plug directly into the factory radio connectors. Of course you would have to run new power, ground and speaker wires to an external amp though! Crutchfield makes all the harness adapters you will need! You can get most of them at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc..., but Crutchfield was the only place I was able to find the harness adapter to plug my amp(in the trunk) to the factory speaker wire harness connected at the factory amp location(behind glovebox). This harness was long enough to reach all the way with room to spare! I believe it was under $15 for it!

ok, i will say that kenwood is not exactly great, i would try and not get anything from them except for an head unit, if anything. illusion audio speakers, incredible for price, they have a very shallow mounting depth as well. jl audio is also extremely good. if you like a lil bass, but want an simple install, put 8's in the rear factory cutout. the sound stage will be in the front, where it belongs. not much modification either. free air 8's of course, illusion audio. simple, and no amp. hope this is your answer!

I would not call Kenwood great, but there are very few brands that are. I would not have a problem with their 6x9s as an option to Infinity, JL, BA, JBL, Polk. They measure up very favorably with any of the competition. Their amps are a little better than the pioneer and sony competition. The only problem I have with their equipment is it tends to be a little more expensive than it probably should be.

I've only really run Kenwood amps, eq and headunit in my old car and had good experiance with them when it cam to speakers I went with a combo of Infinity and JBL for mids and PPI for my subs. I think that I might go JBL if I can get something that will fit. How deep can I go? What size should I get front and rear? Both 6x8 or should I go 6x9?

You can easily fit 6x9s in the front. The rear requires a small amount of modification.

The kenwood 6x9s are the deepest 6x9s i could find. Any 6x9 will fit in the front without mounting depth problems.

Most of the JBLs I have ever heard or used have not had real good bass extension, but generally are louder then other brands. Except for the JBL 545 which is, IMO, the best 6x9 ever made. Incredible bass extension, huge power handling, great highs.

im not sure of the mounting depth, but illusion audio has a very shallow profile (less than 2") they sound sweet and have plenty of mid-bass to them. for a mid, upper end speaker, they have the most bang for the buck
