What does this kit cost. what does the chip cost? and what injectors #24Lbs cost. I have no problem with in stalling Vortech they are easy to go on and have the best instruction so far. I have help with putting 2 S-Trims on some buddys lightnings. and a mustang. thanks
Kit should run about $3200 shipped. Depends on how many kits the supplier purchased at their last shipment since Vortech is a high discounter on bulk, which can change kit prices hundreds of dollars either direction...
Getting a chip burned will usually run between $300-$600 including dyno time, more depending on aditional work (changing parts, etc.).
New 24# injectors can be purchased for just under $300 from Ford Racing Performance Parts, about $50 cheaper if you search long enough online. Used I've seen as cheap as $20 a set on Ebay.
As for the installation... Take everything you've learned on those Mustang and Lightning installs and throw it out the window. The installation manual says 12 hours... at 12 hours, most of us that know the Contour very well were still holding the SC unit in our hands at the 12 hour mark. The first Spring Zing video shows Terry Haines and Mark Rowe demonstrating that very, very well. LOL!
I thought that I read on the Vortech site that their Contour 2.5 kit comes with all the items necessary to recaliberate fuel metering? I didn't think that anything else was necessary other than what their kit offers. Am I severely wrong? Is Vortech lying that this is a plug-n-play kit?
