Thanks for the reply Big Jim. I was aware of your custom tool (similar to a dandelion removal garden tool --< ) from a prior search and should have mentioned it in my initial post. I should also try it later this month.

If it works it must be ok. Don't know if your bigger (I assume) SVT springs make it easier that way or not.
