I don't think everyone feels that way. More cubic inches is usually the cheapest way IMO. It's only when you get up over 100 hp per liter that NA starts getting expensive. BTW one of the cars on my personal supercar list has to rely on boost; 911 GT2

I saw on motortrend, or some car news show this weekend...the GT40 has started production. 5.4l Supercharged V8 making 500+ hp and 500ft lbs. of torque.

I believe the Viper GTS is 455HP. There's supposed to be a new, bigger v-10 coming around. Something like 9 liters?? The viper is a smaller car than the GT 40 though..atleast it looks that way. Only one way to find out!!

As for the SRT 10 - sure it might be fast but that thing is too dayum big!

Well, the Viper is relying on 2 more cylinders!

Those Dodge cheaters! :p

Who cares how it produces its power as long as it's reliable and plentiful.

...and those silly cave men at Ferrari...what were they thinking when they did the F40?

And that 959 thing...what a flop. Guess Porsche needs to get with the normally aspirated program on its flagships...

The consistantly best super car has been the Porsche Turbo! IMHO! Gee I think it might be turbo charged. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Traditional American thought is that cubic inches are important. Eruo thought is that the best power/size&weight ratio is better.

Both have there place, what is better will always be up for discussion.

THe new Viper coming out in 2003 is rumored to have a "triple 500 engine." Its 500hp, 500 lbs torque, and 500 cubic inches. Its also got a stiffer frame and the ability to handle the more power a lot better. I am anxious to see the Gt-40 vs the viper.....I know the target numbers are about the same for them....I am sure Ford wants to run with it....

id think id rather have the viper even if the gt40 was quicker. viper looks better to me. gt40 looks to retro, but thats my 2 cents.

however, i am very happy that ford is now making a car to run with the big boys.

Too bad it's a limited edition. I really, really like the GT40, but I hope something new comes out too, for some realistic competition. In a ideal world, it would be cool to have a Ford that's mass produced at a lower price than the GT40 which directly competes with a Viper.

On a completely different note, I'd take one of those Dodge Razor\'s any day of the week.
