A friend of mine has these two codes on her 1997 Saturn SL1. Can anyone tell me what these are and how to fix them. Tia

P134 and P404 aren't listed for the 'tour and are probably manufacturer specific OBD2 codes. You can probably find these on the net somewhere. A saturn specific site might have this information available.

Generic codes P0XXX applicable to all OBD II compliant vehicles:
P0134 = O2 Sensor circuit no activity detected (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0404 = Exhaust gas recirculation circuit range/performance

P1XXX are mfr specific codes.

P0134 = O2 Sensor circuit no activity detected (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

This code means the O2 sensor has not toggled it's signal in a certain period of time. If it was operating correctly, it should be outputting a signal of too rich/too lean, several times a second. Most likely the O2 sensor is bad.

Okay, well I figured about the o2, but what about the P0404? Is that related?
