OK, I'm going to be the "devil's advocate' here as ask why you shouldn't use Bosch platinums? I have the +4's in my SVT and they work pretty well.....my last tank of gas, i had something like 27.3 MPG with mixed highway/city driving....that's pretty good in my book....

Fords just don't like Bosch plugs. Plain and simple. More people have problems with them then not in a Ford. Don't ask why, I'm not an electrical engineer.

All I can tell you is that I've seen plenty of first hand experience (mine & others) to say you can't beat the stock Ford plugs:

- Personal experience includes 5 Merkur XR4Ti's over 15 yrs. I pulled a set of Bosch Plats and replaced with Fords to fix the crappy running SOB's.

- My mechanic of almost 20 years (a Certified Ford Master Mechanic, Ford Shop Foreman, and in his spare time Subaru fly him around the world to wrench on their WRC rally cars) has seen more problems with Fords running Boschs than any other plug.

- The International Merkur Owners Network (an internet forum for XR4Ti's - 2.3L Turbocharged Fords from 1988 to 1998 - could never find a better plug than the stock Ford one for any XR4Ti running less than 240-260 HP. Bosch were notorious for giving the XR4Ti's problems.

- I have never seen any evidence (perhaps someone here could provide some) that any plug could out do the stocker.

Why pay more for the same or less?

Spend your money where there are proven results.

The majority of complaints I've heard from Ford owners running Bosch plugs is that they seem to run a little flatter, just not quite as much punch as the Fords. Some, myself included, have had real drivability problems.

I've got a set of the Bosch +4's in my SVT that Josh put in a few months before he sold it to me and they'll be replaced soon with Ford plugs even though they've only got about 10k on them. Anyone want to buy them?

Lets see now, if I can get 50% for them I'll have almost enough for a discounted set of stock plugs. If anyone wants to throw some money in the dyno test pot (all I'd need would be 40 @ $1 each ) I'll run a back to back dyno on the two .
