I have a similar affliction, I hate it when someone drives right beside me and matches my speed. I'll try slowing down, b/c I'm usually speeding anyway. If that doesn't work, I crank it up to about 80. I gotta have my SPACE! 
The other thing I hate is when someone behind me thinks that if he gets 6 inches from my back bumper I'll go faster. Even when traffic is slow in both lanes and I really have nowhere to go.
