just the other day my 93 taurus had a similar problem.. i checked the freon and it was up to proper pressure... it seemed to be vacuum related... i got on the alt.autos.ford news group and asked for advice and was told it was the
TPS, throttle position sensor.. so like the other poster staed his father mentioned, it might be the TPS needs to be cleaned... it might be that as the TPS picks up the position of the throttle and tells the compressor to cut off at times, which is normal.. like when giving it gas so your engine can have all its power to drive the car when gunning it..... i might try the TPS and clean mine off also..... it, the problem with the a/c comes and goes.....
