I had a similar problem on my ¨98 V6 atx.
A couple of days ago The top radiator hose blew (while the car was off) and after replacing that, (Its the hose with three or four arms branching off) not only does my car run cooler, (was running at M. Now its at the O) but my A/C compressor doesn't kick out when going up a hill anymore. Go figure.
