April..installing the struts is not a big ordeal, if you can get a friend to help. The write up in the How-To section is really good...and the major tools are available for free at Auto-Zone. You can call Bill Jenkins (Our stock Ford parts discount guy) and get good SVT struts for around $65 apiece. Take a weekend...your crew...and for under $300...have a car that rides better than new. The cheapest "shop" I have heard of is Meineke...who quoted a friend of mine $600. But $50-60 in labor per wheel is probably average.
