also the newer versions of the valintine 1 are smaller. same width and length but they are thinner. my friend has an old one, we have a new one. its maybe a 1/4 inch thinner but dont quote me on that one, just a guess. . .

I was actually surprised how small the V1 was when I received mine, it always looked much bigger in the magazine ads. It's definitely an awesome radar detector, and has paid for itself several times over in the year I've owned it.

My main concern now is laser, which seems to be getting very popular in this area (Seattle). The V1 does a decent job picking it up, but it's never enough warning. Lucky the state patrol is pretty lazy and almost always sticks to their usual speed trap spots.
