Actually, I owned an 86 Tempo 5spd that I drove for about 180k mi on two clutches (put in a new motor at 62k after driving through too deep a puddle). I drove it home 20 miles with bent rods. It didnâ??t let go until I hit the driveway. It never overheated or had to be towed home in all the years I owned it. Sold it to my mail man for $500 and he drove it to 232K mi before the clutch went (he couldnâ??t see putting $600 into a $500 car). The Tempo was not a bad car it just fell behind the times.

Replaced the Tempo with the 98 Myst LS. I have 87k miles on it. It has been towed three times. I drive it on the same roads as I did the Tempo and at the same speeds. The Myst is maintained to the highest standards (mine). Anything that broke the dealer did during the countless recalls. I just put in a Torque converter and an updated Valve Body (that corrects the design flaw in the converter bypass and regulator valve.. that caused the TC to fail).

So where the #### am I going with this?

Well I love my Myst LS, handling, power, and comfort. I just hate what ford (Jac the ripper) did to it (water pump for example)

Do I want the Tempo back?? Not really, Is the Myst going to go five more years and another 100k mi??? I doubt it.

have you fixed your ford lately?
