Depends on how loud you like to play your stereo. If you like it loud that is most likely the culprit, try using a crossover. It is strange that the pass. side blew and not the other. As with any stereo problem it is usually better to check any connections/wiring first to eliminate that cause. If wiring is fine it could have been pushing the speaker too hard or simply a defective speaker. You have a few places to look at to be sure of the problem. Good Luck.
