Just thought I would post some pictures from the last couple years of taking my SVT to Wakins Glen. I go every year with the Shelby Mustang Club of Rochester in August. This years event is August 18th and 19th. I'm getting the car ready and the pictures help get me in the spirit. Notice the Mustangs are behind me! If anyone wants more info or details feel free to email me. Marty 98 SVT

Its good sportsmanship for the slower cars to move to the outside to let the much faster cars by.

A friend of mine takes his 01 GT up there..i wanted to go badly this year but missed the registration. He said he saw an SVT run with a cobra (the 330hp variety). Cobra would pass on the straightaways and then fall behind in the turns.

I was going to say it was because they were about to lap the SVT...

Actually I fare really good against the Mustangs. It is just about what the other post said. I have some trouble keeping up with them in the straights, but easily catch most of them in the turns. My father brings his 97 Cobra (4.6L DOHC 300hp) up there with me and we pretty much run neck in neck. I can stay out in front of him and he can do the same. I usually dance around behind him in the turns and then watch him pull me ( not too much ) in the straights. The power band and gearing of the car is really perfect for that track. Once I get past a 5.0L Mustang, most of the time I can leave them behind. In the group that I have been running in, the strongest competition has been another SVT with some suspension upgrades. But let's not forget this is just a driving school

i dont think an 03 cobra should be neck n neck with an svt... i'd chalk that up to bad rubber or driver error.. the 03 cobras handle like they're on rails compared to every other mustang.
