My IMRC is done for, as soon as I turn on the ignition, the secondaries open immediatly, even at idle, and dont close until the igniton is off again. Whats the chances that I can find this part in a junkyard or new?

Check the classifieds here. I think there is one available. Junk yards should have them too.

I wonder though... if your secondaries are opening, is the IMRC at fault? Is something else giving your IMRC the wrong command perhaps? Look into it a little deeper maybe.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Easily in a junk yard...just go to your local U-wrench it. Might be able to grab 2...just in case 1 is bad. There's also one in the classifieds here...

Are the secondaries actually opening?

You definitely could have a broken cable.

Could be the return spring.

Have you pulled the manifolds to check everything out yet?
They probably need cleaning anyway. Hell they always do...

I just purchased a new IMRC from the dealership for around $105. That is the safest bet, as you never really know how much life a used IMRC has on it. You may want to leave off the plastic cover that goes over the IMRC also. This is known to keep the IMRC cooler and help it last longer.

I agree. I would go with a new one so you have an ease of mind. I am going this route, as my IMRC does what it wants when it wants. I am tired of not knowing if my car is going to run at its fulles or not. Plus you can save time by just ordering the new one.
