With hunting season coming up soon I decided to purchase a new rifle. It's a tikka whitetail hunter synthetic/stainless 30-06 with a simmons whitetail expedition scope. I haven't fired it yet but plan to take it to the range next week to try it out. Does anyone have any experience with tikka rifles, and if so, what are your thoughts?

I always wondered this question being from michigan. Since like 70% of the population here goes hunting the first day of deer season up here. If you shoot a deer in the ass while its not looking from 100yards, are you still a "sportsman"?

No normal person would try for the arse since you would most likely not kill the deer. You wait for a broadside shot so either hit it in the neck ot heart area.

Since most sportsmen eat the meat from the deer, they'd never take the chance of contaminating the meat with fecal matter by "shooting a deer in the ass".

I don't know, I shot one in the ass one and it came out its shoulder. It was most certainly dead.

LMAO. I ask for comments about my gun and come back to conversation about deer getting shot in the arse.

I've never owned a Tikka but i did install and site in a scope on one and i absoulutely loved the gun. The whitetail is one of their lower end models and it is still an excellent gun, the action should be glass smooth and all of the fit and finish is robably beautiful. Good buy man.
