OP contoured CEG\'er C Joined: Sep 2002 Posts: 192 PATRIOTS & RED SOX COUNTRY	OK Finally I discovered the problem and easy fix The Second terminal on the bettery Positive post was loose [not the battery terminal]and had overheated and melted the plastic into the contact area causing an insulation effect !!!! What a mess I filed the melted plastic away and made metal to metal contact with a tightened the terminal WOW 500 miles without a hesitation !!!!! I Went to Maine this week and back CLEAN AND TIGHTEN YOUR TERMINALS !!!! Problem solved with no dealer involved !!!! 1999 GREEN Contour SE SPORT Duratec V6, ATX, SUNROOF, 93,000 Miles, P0420 ON&OFF -replaced DS O2 --did not FIX New TORQUE CONVERTER @ 53,000-Intermittent P1744 New DASH at 53,000 and New DASH lifted-now using MOLLEY bolts to pull down

Problem solved with no dealer involved !!!! agreed...I ahd the same problem...I needed to get a new battery though....the batteery acid was coroding my wires......Always check you terminaks first. Roz 3.0 SVT hybrid...all the fixens...Track/Race ready very soon!!!!!! 20,000 + miles
