You do make an interesting point, though, so I'll definitely give the Lysol thing a shot.

And truthfully, bk, I didn't even know there was a cabin air filter. I've only had the car a couple of months and have never owned a Contour before, so I'm still getting to know the thing!

I'll have to look around and see if I can find the cabin filter, although I didn't have a hell of a lot luck when attempting to find my air conditioner inlet. I thought I'd located it under the dash in the center behind the console, but when I turned the air conditioner on max high, and held a little piece of paper in front of it to check for flow, the paper didn't move much. I suppose if I spray Lysol into it and can smell it coming out of the vents then, by God, I've found it.
