Yes, but team politics gave him a win TDF too. Lemond was poised to pass him in overall classification (in 85 I think?) but the D.S. told him to just follow Fignon's wheel.
Lemond probably would have had more as well if it wasn't for that gunshot wound. That's another amazing american comeback, to win 2 TDFs after getting shot.
Still, you can't take anything away from the badger. He was awesome...
