Umm, OK. Dude, why do you make such silly statements all the time?
IMHO Turbo Timers should be installed stock from the factory. The number one cause for turbocharger failure is coked bearings resulting from numbnuts shutting off their turbocharged engine after blasting around on boost.
You yourself should know that turbo get RED HOT and if you don't allow them to cool down before shutting off the car, the oil burns and cokes up the bearings. Eventually this screws them up and your turbo seals and impeller balance goes out of whack resulting in poor turbo performance, blowing smakoe and possible turbo impeeler dissintegration.
Sure, you can sit in your car for 2-3 minutes waiting for it to cool down. But who wants to do that. I'm sure, your girlfriend, if you have one, would love sitting in the car park at the mall or the restaurant waiting for it to cool down.
Turbo timers, like the APEXi unit ( I have the same one) calculate the correct shut down time by themselves, and allow you to park you car, remove the key, lock the door, arm you alarm and walk away, all while it it keeps the engine running to cool the turbo and keep the oil flowing too. Once it gets to the right time. The car shuts off. If anyone tries to steal the car, it'll shut down as soon as they drop the e-brake, provided of course that they got past you car alarm to get into the car in the first place.
Get properly informed before you make assclown statements.
You may think I get on your case a lot, but if you didn't say stupid things I wouldn't say squat to you.
Good info. I never knew that. You learn something new everyday. Hope you get your car back the way you want it.
